Each October over 3,000 people travel to Smith Mountain Lake, viewing some of the most beautiful homes in the area. Over the past ten years a small group of locals with the help of volunteers have raised over 1.5 million dollars for charity.

Smith Mountain Lake Wine Tasting

Each year in October the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce holds an annual Wine Tasting Festival. This past year sixteen wineries and vineyards were represented making this event one of the largest of it's kind in Virginia. Smith Mountain Lake Boat Shows

Each year there are several boat shows held on Smith Mountain Lake. The largest is the Antique and Classic Boat Show and Rally held at Saunders Parkway Marina, usually in August. For more information phone (888) SAIL-SML.
